All-on-4®: “Teeth-in-a-Day”

Struggling with missing teeth? Whether you’re contending with one missing tooth or widespread tooth loss,  KOIS®-trained Staten Island dentist Liana Stein, DDS understands how burdensome it can be to live with reduced function in your dental arches. Not only can gaps between healthy teeth take away from your smile, but missing teeth also lead to a weakened bite and jawbone recession when left untreated.

All-on-4® implant dentures, popularly known as “Teeth-in-a-Day,” can be a revolutionary solution for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth. Unlike traditional dentures attached with a paste, this procedure provides a fixed, stable, and natural-looking set of teeth in a single day, restoring both function and confidence.

What are the Benefits of All-on-4® Same-Day Teeth?

All-on-4® can be considered an “upgrade” from traditional, unsecured dentures in many ways, offering functional and aesthetic improvements. Benefits of All-on-4® implant dentures often include:

  • Stable, secure denture solution: Implants are securely affixed to the jawbone, eliminating the slippage or shifting commonly experienced with traditional dentures.
  • Greater confidence when eating, drinking, or speaking: Since a patient’s dentures are secured to the jawbone, most people experience an immediate improvement in self-esteem, speech, and the ability to eat comfortably.
  • Restores smile within one appointment, even while waiting for the creation of permanent dentures: Patients walk out the same day with a full set of functioning teeth.
  • Allows an unrestricted diet and the ability to eat chewy, tough, or sticky foods: Unlike removable dentures, All-on-4® implants are fixed and can enable you to eat all of your favorite foods — much like natural teeth.
  • Prevents bone recession caused by missing teeth: Implants stimulate the jawbone, helping to prevent bone loss and maintain facial structure.

The All-on-X before-and-after photos featured in our patient gallery can offer examples of how transformative the results of this treatment can be, both for your dental health and your day-to-day life.

Are All-on-4® Full-Arch Implants Right for Me?

While All-on-4® implant dentures can be effective, stable, and efficient in replacing entire rows of teeth, this approach may not be right for everyone. Since this treatment requires oral surgery, All-on-4® is typically recommended for:

  • Those missing most or all of their teeth
  • Individuals struggling with loose or uncomfortable dentures
  • People experiencing significant tooth decay or advanced gum disease in most or all of their teeth
  • Patients with mild to moderate bone loss who may not qualify for traditional implants
  • Adults in good general health who can undergo oral surgery

While All-on-4® is often most successful for patients with an adequate amount of bone volume to support their implants, other teeth replacement options are available to reclaim function, such as dental bridges and implant-supported bridges. However, it’s important to note that bridges are only meant to replace sections of missing teeth rather than a full dental arch.

How is All-on-4® Implant Surgery Performed?

The All-on-X treatment process begins with an in-depth consultation, where Dr. Stein or our dental team will take detailed digital scans, impressions, and X-rays to carefully plan the placement of your implants. On the day of your oral surgery, four to six dental implants are strategically positioned in the jaw — two placed vertically at the front and two angled at the back to maximize support and stability. Once the implants are in place, a customized temporary set of teeth is attached on the same day, allowing patients to leave the office with a fully functioning smile. Over the next few months, the implants naturally fuse with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration, ensuring a strong and lasting foundation. After healing is complete, the temporary teeth are replaced with a permanent, durable restoration designed to look, feel, and function like your natural teeth.

How Much Does All-on-4® Cost?

All-on-4® is performed based on the unique details of a patient’s personalized treatment plan, so there is no universal price for the “teeth-in-day” procedure. Our office will be able to provide you with a cost estimate after your needs and concerns are discussed in a consultation. All-on-4® dental implants are an investment into your confidence and oral health for the long-term future; therefore, it can benefit patients to prioritize finding a qualified dental team to perform their procedure rather than shopping for the lowest quote.

In addition, All-on-4® often proves more cost-effective in the long run when compared to replacing each missing tooth with individual dental implants. LianaSmiles also accepts dental financing for out-of-pocket costs through Cherry or Proceed Finance for qualified patients, both of which can provide payment plans to make the procedure more affordable. If you have questions about the cost of All-on-4®, please feel free to reach out to our office.
